New Moon Cancer

Nurture, Re-Set

Cancer is the sign of mothering energy, and during this New Moon you’ll feel a stronger urge to nurture and care for everyone, including yourself. Family, friends and domestic matters will feel more important; and you might find yourself juggling trying to address everyone’s needs and yours at the same time. Trust your gut and your intuition when dealing with these situations. But pay particular attention to taking care of yourself, your needs, wants and desires.
There is an energy for change in the air. Pay attention to what no longer brings you joy, happiness, peace and security. Step up and change the ways and areas of your life that have stagnated during the past year. Leave your comfort zones of the past and remove what no longer works for you for the sake of the new. Ask yourself how you can transform your everyday life into a source of joy instead of returning to what didn’t work. Break out of your negative patterns to allow yourself to step into new kinds of priorities, values and relationships. Do a re-set where it is needed. Focus on building a new stability in one significant area of your life.
Try to find new ways to understanding yourself and of communicating. Embrace a new version of yourself – outlooks, ideas, thoughts and plans for the future. Appreciate your resilience and your ability to successfully confront challenges and transform them into positive stepping stones for your future. It will be for your best, and won’t be as disruptive as you thought it might be.
Know that emotions will be heightened and running deep during this Cancer New Moon, and its easy become overdramatic and moody. Recognize and soothe the emotional waves within yourself to prevent tsunamis at a later time. Revisit and review old memories, feelings and hurts to integrate them within yourself which will then allow you to heal and give you better alignments and ways of relating and creating deeper connections that are more positive and joyful.
Be proactive in setting time aside to nurture yourself and practice self-care. Be gentle with yourself, but stand up for yourself while setting the necessary firm boundaries. Implement an easier pace in your day-to-day activities, even if for a day or two. Get enough sleep and even take time to enjoy some afternoon naps. Eat healthier. Participate in exercise that stretches tight muscles. Take some brisk walks to rev up your cardio. Meditate – you don’t even have to be doing it formally – just sit down, tune out the world around you, and quiet your mind--even if for a minute or two. Venture out into nature. Take a trip to your favorite natural setting, and just sit for a couple of minutes or hours to take in the beauty and energy that surrounds you.
With this New Moon energy, make important changes in your life that will benefit you long term, especially new ways to enhance family life and domestic affairs, and to build up your feelings of security and safety. Start a new major project that has long-term outlooks but that also allows you to express the more flamboyant and creative side of you. Don’t hold back.
Allow yourself to tap into an increase in self-awareness, intuition, curiosity and inventiveness. Be open to new unexpected opportunities that will show up. Come up with inventive ways to make progress which will be the way to overcome the setback hurdles you have recently experienced. During this New Moon, you will find that your creativity and imagination have a boost that will spur you to new ways of artistic expression.
The Empress suggests a time where love, abundance, nurturing and compassion will be extremely important for you. Be kind to yourself. She also is about expressing yourself creatively or artistically.

This card is all about care with compassion and kindness. Self-care and meeting your own needs as well as caring for others and meeting their needs. Consider what you are nurturing, as well as what may need to be nurtured within you.

Remember that the Empress has this all in balance. This is not someone who is focused only on their own needs nor only on the needs of others while neglecting themselves. There is a balance, Give and take. Check to see where you might need to have more balance, more support, more self-care in your own life. Be good to yourself but also, be good to others – try doing so with anonymous random acts of kindness. What goes around, comes around.
