Summer Solstice
June 20, 2024 at 1:51pm PT
Pause, Appreciate, Home
This year’s Summer Solstice has a unique message with its rather important combination of Neptune at the last degree of Pisces squaring
the Sun at 0 degree Cancer. This is a somewhat rare transit, as Neptune has not squared the Sun for a Summer Solstice this tightly since 1943.
Astrologically, this Summer Solstice is a time to honor every moment that comes with each day. To slow down and take the time to
“smell the roses”. To pause and appreciate the everyday small events that fill your life that you may not be paying full attention to -
like the glistening morning dew covered spider web or taking in the changing colors splashed across the sky at sunset; or perhaps just
sitting and listening to the wind whispering through the trees while the birds sing in all their glory.
You may find that your best ideas show up when you pause and allow your mind to wander and explore new possibilities without the pressure
of deadlines. Pausing also strengthens your emotional resilience, as it provides an opportunity to process your experiences and the
feelings they can bring up thereby improving your relationships and communications. Dedicating regular timeouts into your everyday
routines creates a balance that supports long-term success and fulfillment.
Be open to resisting the habit of multitasking and staying endlessly busy. This means consciously considering doing just a little bit less
which will grant you the space to appreciate all that you do and have and much more. It is a call to change your focus from the external
circumstances of life to looking within; of allowing your mind to become quiet.
Now is a time to turn your focus inwards to better understand your relationship both with yourself and the role you play in the world.
In the hustle and bustle of the outer world, it is easy to overlook the importance of the inner world of your imagination, dreams, daydreams
and ideals, thinking of them as distractions or unimportant, not realizing that your inner well-being depends on these.
Instead of exploring the outer world, this is the time in which you can venture in to your own inner world. Reflect on your habits, your
feelings, and your emotional well-being. You are finally coming home to yourself and will see that “home” is a feeling that starts with your
inner world and less about a place in the outer world. Know that this is a profound and enlivening shift.
Where is it taking you next?
Wherever you go and whatever you do this summer, make sure to check in with yourself first.
Ask yourself: What would make me feel most at home?
Pay attention to what comes up. Perhaps it’s a prompt to change course; although most often it is simply a gentle push for acknowledgement.
Because found deep within the unlived life are snippets and slivers of happiness that you can bring into the light of the sun. Turn inwards
and away from the activity of the outer world and into your own heart and mind for this will be when you feed the imagination, when matters
of the heart and your dreams are being nourished.
Rediscover things about yourself and who you are, and the things that enliven your spirit and bring you joy. It is never too late to
share with the Universe what you need or what you would like; and it is never too late to start moving in the direction that you desire.
Set intentions under the Solstice about how you would like the remainder of 2024 to go. Set intentions for more peace, more love, more
gratitude, and more of whatever you are looking for in your life moving forward. Focus on matters closer to home, family, community,
and a sense of belonging and stability, while seeking out the people, things and activities that feed and nurture your heart, mind and
soul. When you do, you will find that you love who you are becoming. Because then you will truly be “home”.
Blessings,
Lisa Luna
